Including Beijing on RTW fare.
I am about to book a fairly simplistic routing for business class RTW. Route I would like is:
LHR-BKK-HK-PEK-NRT(i guess connecting in HK)-Washington-tpa-lgw.
All seems fine except my agent is telling me the HK-Beijing route is not covered on the oneworld routing. I show it as a CX daily flight however my agent says its a code share with dragon air and is not included. Therefore i have to buy a hk-pek return.
Is that right?
Also as an aside if i wanted to additionally visit shanghai and Xian is there a air pass i should consider?
Many thanks.

There are CX flights operated by CX and codeshares operated by KA. You can't currently use the KA operated flights on a OW RTW product, but you can use the CX operated ones.
CX also now flies its own metal to Shanghai from HK.
Schedules on http://www.cathaypacific.com
Domestic mainland China flights are generally cheapest bought locally.

thanks very much for quick reply. I see on the schedule that Cx flys many times a day to Beijing out of HK. It looks to me as though all but 1 flight is a code share (i think). Does that mean i can only fly on their own flight not code shared under the one world rule?
If that is the case the problem may be that the connection to tokyo will not time correctly.
thanks

Correct - unfortunately CX's flights to Beijing & Shanghai are at odd times. There are two flights to/from PEK most days. Codes are 312/318/2034 & 313/317/2039. The flights with codes starting 6 are the codeshares.
