DONE tickets going up?

I have a DONE4 booked at the moment, for a July start. There is talk that the prices will increase from April 1 when the new airlines join OW.

Will there be any notice of fare increases for DONE tickets, or should I ticket the trip before April 1? The sectors are all done- expect for one flight LHR-IST, where I am on one flight and my fiancee is on the later flight, as there was only one D class seat on each flight, and we have to be in IST on that date. She'll use the time to try and get a treatment in the MB Spa.

I was of course hoping to leave the ticketing until late June, so the charge on my card would be as late as possible.

I changed my reservation from CX to AA, and it has turned out to be about $500 cheaper per pax with the lower charges!

An email to the BA office here in Seoul has gotten us the seats that we want on all of the BA operated flight as well^

I doubt anyone knows for sure, but based on past experience there have been annual fare increases even without new carriers joining. The likelihood that fares will go up again is correspondingly high. Besides, you may not be able to hold the reservations that long without a ticket number anyway.

Although not answering your original question, your fiancee will not be able to get an MB spa appointment in the departures lounge for your IST flight as it is not a longhaul flight.

If you are travelling into LHR longhaul then you will both be eligable for MB Spa treatments (subject to appointment availability) in the arrivals lounge at either T1 or T4 (assuming you are travelling in at least J with BA)

Also, if you find yourself travelling through LHR after August I don't believe the MB spa will even exsist as MB have decided not to renew their agreement with BA.

Ahh, I didn't think of that! I'll wait and see what date they tell me to ticket. I asked if they take AMEX (in the CMB office of AA) but the agent I was dealing with had to check with the fare desk in the office, and will let me know on Monday.

I knew that the charges would be lower on AA, but I was really shocked by the savings, though some of the savings will be wiped by the fact we will need to spend one night in CMB to collect the tickets from the AA office directly.

We arrive in LHR from YUL with BA, and then connect to IST with BA, both flight in business class, so she could use the arrivals lounge in T4, before changing to T1 for the flight to LHR. This is if we can't get her on the same flight as me. I'll keep an eye out on Expertflyer for another D class seat on BA676 with me, as that is a better option than me heading back out to IST airport at 2330 to pick her up!

Historically there has been notice (between 2 weeks and a month), to allow time for in-flight reservations to complete ticketing. While such notice is not required, I cannot imagine the airlines changing their business practice to eliminate this notice. Per that pattern it would be this week or next.

I have a DONE4 ex Philippines booked, and was advised it needs to be paid for by March 29. First sector is not until April 21, so that's 3 weeks and 2 days prior. I thought that for a DONEx payment wasn't needed until closer to the departure date. Maybe there are changes in the wind for April 1.....

Its good karma to spend at least one night in a "cheap" place for buying a xONEx ticket - putting a little bit of money into an economy that really needs it .

Or it could just be the rules according to whoever is issuing your ticket. I believe different carriers impose their own limits on how long they will hold a reservation without it being ticketed.
