KrasAir to join OneWorld?

Okay, so the subject line is a little misleading, but it looks like Boris Abramovich and KrasAir are actually getting closer to a deal to purchase Malev.

Any thoughts on the impact on oneworld developments?

As well, the KrasAir destinations are listed here. It would certainly add a number of destinations, some of which could end up being very favorably price *ONE origins...

Who's flown KrasAir? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Weren't the results of KrasAir's bid for Malv rejected by the Hungarian government?

They were in a previous bid, but this is a new consortium that Aronovich has put together and I think the Hungarian government is more desperate this time...

If you mean the Abramovich brothers, yes, they're in talks with the Hungarians now. Oh, and they have a new agreement with OS so that all of their traffiic further West should go via VIE on OS. So if they join an alliance, it's probably going to be *A

oops, yes can't believe I screwed up that name...

And, according the the IHT, the bid has been accepted (still pending approvals, of course). Link

So they're now vaguely linked to all alliances--hmmm...

Jesus, you scared me there. I have been on KrasAir and it was not a very nice experience. My flights from DME-Krasnojarsk-DME were on a very very old TU144. These planes do not have inflatable life rafts in case of an emergency but rather a rope to let youself down...

KrasAir should stay were they currently are - in the depths of Siberia !
