MA and JL were already included, so the only change left to make is to drop EI from the fare (unless they plan to keep EI on the GE fare, which is entirely possible). Interesting that the GE changes can be done months before the OWE changes, wonder if this is for technical reasons (problems in allocating the fare basis) or an attempt at product differentiation?

I remember seeing the oneworld press release saying that EI would only leave oneworld Explorer but not Global Explorer

Would you know if this change would also apply for OneWorld award travel? I am in the process of booking a OW100Y award with AA and it would be great if I could fly on those new carriers.

If you mean AA Partner award the answer is yes for LAN:
