payment options for RTW
I'm about to ticket an AONE4 in MRU but was wondering what forms of payment they take.
I only have one credit card that has enough of a limit for the purchase but they take a 3% foreign transaction fee. My cap one (with no fee) is only 4500 and they couldn't raise it.
Can I wire the money in US dollars to MRU?

Can you not pay money into your credit card and leave it with a positive balance? That's what I do when I need to charge a sum that would otherwise take me over my credit limit.
But that's on a HK-based card - not sure if it's possible on US cards.

Some cards allow a positive balance but I called cap one and they said that my purchase would be declined even if I had positive balance.
Cap one absorbs the 1% fee by the way.
If they can split onto two cards that may work out.

Problem with Citibank AA advantage card
I charged an amount of 254257 MUR on Dec 4th on to the Citi AA advantage card that BA said would be around $7696 but the amount that actually appeared was $7932. Citi then told me that the 3% charge was built into the amount. But when the statement was generated at the end of the month Citi charged a separate line item of $250 as a foreign trans fee. Now they say that the $7932 was the amount that BA charged but BA says they have no additional fees. I am still disputing this matter and it seems a case of double counting.

I know over-paying doesn't increase the amount that can be charged, at least for CaptitalOne in US dollars. I tried that trick purposely to pay for two tickets issued by AA in Doha, but I wound up having to use another card for the extra amount above the original credit limit.
