IB now has an advantage as the seats are better (unless AA happens to have one of their 2 new J 767s on the route, then AA is better). Food/wine is about the same (maybe slightly better on AA, so a huge improvement for IB in the past year). However IB is prone to delays, so if you want on-time performance, pick AA on this route. Also AA arrival is at a better gate than IB (and better immigration clearance). So it is a toss-up, but a year ago AA dominated this route. Good luck getting D inventory on AA though, it tends to be sold out in J (depends on the time of year).

IFE: IB is better, but AA's combo of DVD player + Bose suits me just fine.
Food: Even though I enjoy IB Spanish choices I find AA food better and more filling.
Service: IB is good, but often in a sense that's not appreciated by non Spanish pax. AA is also good, but often in a sense not appreciated by non US pax. Flip a coin, as both are quite capable of making you feel either great or miserable.
Reliability: IB is often late, but AA is more prone to mechanicals.
My overall preference: AA.
OT: Merry Xmas to all
