LAN Argentina and One World

Can anybody confirm if LAN Argentina is already a full member? Im thinking of using AA mileage to draw a LAN Argentina award (for domestic Argentina travel).

Thanks.

You might want to check with AA because you can accrue on Lan Argentina w/in Argentina - so maybe they aren't OW, but maybe they are a fully-participating AA partner.

*Travel Wholly Within Argentina
Effective Dec. 1, 2005, for LAN Argentina flights (LA flight numbers, operated by LAN Argentina) that operate wholly within Argentina, fare classes G, K, L, M, N, O, Q, S, V are not eligible for mileage accrual.

Indeed... Ive been accruing mileage already (to my AAdvantage account), but what I now want to do is redeem an award on LAN using AA miles.... and it seems that this is still not possible.

Have you asked AA and been told that it is not possible? Oneworld membership is irrelevant to AA redeeming miles on an airline (it doesn't even guarantee being able to do so -- the BA situation); it is rare for AA to earn but not redeem on a partner airline (though not unprecedented). The AA web site does not break down LAN for redemption, but does for earning, making it ambiguous what is the case -- but does show "single country" awards for Argentina. Wouldn't a LAN flight entirely within Argentina be a LAN Argentina operation? In which case aa.com shows that you can redeem that.
