No - but almost - and they did get as far as being a valid carrier on Global Explorer tickets for a while (as JAL already is now).

The problem with using the global explorer is I'm already over the 39k miles and will have too many stopovers (both in total and within a region).

Thanks for all the good ideas everyone, things like using points to upgrade to F just didn't occur to me (that's what happens when you fly QF for so long I guess!)

I better pull my finger out and get a booking made as D availability from Aus to Europe in early jan is getting thin on the ground. It looks like most of the long haul segments will be on CX so I've got my fingers crossed I can get a run in the NNNBC at some point
