Saturday, though BA Comair told me it would be twice a week from mid-November so maybe more than once a week. The launch has already been postponed/moved twice, and obtaining accurate info from them seems almost impossible. It took two weeks to receive an ambiguous Email from them.

Latest information I see, using Amadeus, is Sat, Wed and Sun, starting 25 Nov 06.

I cannot see anything other than Saturdays. Also note the following from their web site:

British Airways now fly to Mauritius
Effective 25 November 2006, British Airways will operate one flight per week between Johannesburg and Mauritius, we will operate a 120-seater Boeing 737-300 on this new route, with the opportunity to increase the schedule to three flights per week.

All I can say is that Amadeus, and the current oneworld timetable, show that flight operating on 25NOV, 02DEC, 03DEC, 06DEC...

Edited to add: I just checked ba.com and it also shows JNB-MRU operating 3 times a week, on the same dates as above:

My CPT-LHR-HKG has been changed to CPT-JNB-HKG by the folks in MRU. I guess now they have the MRU-JNB flight the double entry to LHR has become ineligible

Since they won't be flying between MRU and JNB every day, it would be interesting to know if they'll still allow a LHR double entry if one chooses to fly on a day without service. Surely they can't dictate the day of the week that we fly.

Of course they can and do. There are many OW flights that are not daily. You either fly A-B on the days that there are flights or use more segments to fly A-C-B as long as it does not violate any of the other routing rules.

Lots of routes zero out A and D inventory for certain days of the week ... so they have been doing this for years .... I guess you just never noticed.

JNB-MRU Comair/BA Dec. 19 or 20 was not bookable anywhere.
Am I right in assuming that one cannot book this flight at all ?
Or doesn't it fly on this day.

Comair has done this before (not allowed bookings for a flight prior to start of service ... strange policy, unless they aren't sure it will really operate). Presumably bookings will be allowed sometime in November, closer to the service date. However it has had at least 2 firm start of service dates now, which were missed, so maybe it won't be in November. Isn't Comair having a labour problem, perhaps that is preventing the start of any new service?

It operates Dec 16,17,20,23,24,27

Dec. 20 would be great. Currently I am booked on SA in fullfare C, maybe Comair has a better fare than 7200 Rand oneway...
