Take this xONEx, ex-SCL:
SCL-LAX-HKG .. .MAD-EZE-BOG-SCL
LA570 is a one-stop direct flight EZE-BOG, but the flight makes a tech(?) stop in SCL. The relevant coupon would read, I imagine, EZE-BOG, with no mention whatsoever of SCL. On paper it looks doable, but...
Will AA argue that one cannot take that flight because the tech stop in SCL breaks the one international departure/arrival rule? Opinions?

It is allowed as only the O/D for each sector counts; and if the flight disappears from the schedule, you get a free reroute (including extra segment if necessary). Maybe LA creates flights like this precisely for this reason (well, maybe not, probably CRS display position is the real motivation).
