Question Where to Deposit Miles from Expedia's First Special?

Ok, hope this is the right place to post... if not, please forgive me...

Assuming the recent "Expedia Special Fare" AA First Class LON-US promotion pans out... husband and I will have First Class (A farecode) miles LON-LAX to deposit SOMEWHERE...

Both of us have BA accounts with BA miles and tier points in them, but - alas - I am aware that we can't credit out BA accounts with the miles/tier points from AA transatlantic flights...

...SO what to do with the miles etc? We have some more AA flights (MCO-LAX, SNA-DFW, DFW-IAH all in YUP/First) booked for this October. I WAS going to use the tier points from those flights towards qualifying for silver, but since taking up Expedia's kind AA First promotion we may be a few tier points short for that... (UNLESS I can talk the husband into a quick Club trip to Europe this Autumn...).

So any suggestions regarding where best to desposit these miles? I would be loathed to waste them...

Boo

Not strictly a OW carrier, but you could consider Turkish Airlines. AA is a partner in their FF programme Miles&Smiles

That is what I use for AA miles that I cannot credit to BA, plus I have had to use TK on occasion in any case. Personally I quite like them and 25k miles to get a business class reward ticket across Europe is not bad!

You will also get more FF points for your miles with TK than AA by my reckoning: AA give you 1.5 points per mile in First, TK offer 2 points per mile.

I shall hopefully be topping up my account courtesy of Expedia later this year. ^

You could also just get AA Platinum status (equivalent to BA Silver) by using the AA Platinum challenge (10K EQP and you get 7.5K on a single LHR-US A flight); in general AA miles are worth double compared to BAEC miles, though you'd have to do your own computation. In any case AA provides far more options than the converse (trying to place BA miles).

AS may be a good choice. They have a wide array of airline partners: http://www.alaskaair.com/mileageplan...rs_Airline.asp

AA flight miles count for status on AS's program, too.
