*ONE4 Questions

Hi,

I've read the stickies, and looked through the forum. I think I have a good idea of the rules of the *ONE4, however I have a couple of questions that I would like to get clarified.

If I fly QF5 from SYD-FRA, only stopping in SIN for the couple of hours between the flights, then this is 1 Segment. Is this correct?

However, if I stop in SIN for a day or two, then this will be 2 segments, even though I will still be on QF5. Is this correct?

In the USA I can only do 1 trans-con flight (between the nominated cities as per the sticky). However if instead I take flights that change in, say, DFW, then as they will have different flight numbers they will be two segments, but would not count as my 1 trans-con flight. Is this correct?

Thanks,

Glenn

Thanks. I'll start preparing my trip. I have to travel from SYD to NUE (although I think FRA might be as close as I can get on Oneworld), then to the USA and finally back to SYD. For this I think a *ONE4 may be the best fare (probably in J - not sure if F would be worth it). I can throw a few additional segments in there to boost my miles and Status Credits (on Qantas).

If you're not going to use all your segments anyway, then personally I would go for the blow-out CX F experience:

SYD-HKG-FRA (by train to Nuremberg and then back to FRA, I guess) FRA-DFW-<USA>-JFK-HKG-SYD

as the basics of it, which is fine so long as the first time through HKG is less than a 24 hour stopover.

You mentioned a possible stopover of a day or two in SIN. Be aware that if you do that you will not be able to reenter Asia on the way back.
