Quick Circle Pacific Question

IIRC the xONEx fares used to only allow one trip between Australia and NZ. This still the case? Also, does this apply to the Circle Pacifics? (I've read the entire star file but want to be sure).

I need to go to NZ for Christmas (exUS), want to go onwards to Oz but may have to go Oz-NZ-Oz and wanted to see if it was an option.

It's never been the case that I am aware of, except in the case of tickets originating in either of Aus or NZ, in which case you have the restriction of only one international exit and one international arrival from the country of origin. Otherwise for a ticket originating in, say, the US, there is nothing to stop you going, for example, ...JFK-SYD-AKL-SYD-AKL-SYD-HKG-... if you so desire.

I agree, it hasn't been prohibited on xONEx fares except by the country of origin rule. What I dimly recall changing was the elimination of the exception allowing 2 entries into Australia for travel to POM (and/or maybe elsewhere in PNG). But travel trans-Tasman has never been restricted (given the cheap fares compared to SYD-PER, understandable that no restriction was necessary).

I'm glad to hear its gone. I had the problem when I wanted to go to NZ on an AONE5 back in 2002/3. I could go, but couldn't get back. I went to Perth instead. I figured at the time it was not allowed as it might be abused by people doing mileage runs. Anyhow, thanks for the input everyone. Looks like our plans will work out!
