RTW Fares

I apologise in advance in relation to my questions here today as I am sure they have been covered, however I am still unsure on some matters.

I wanting advice on how I can book a RTW in First on these cheaper tickets as has been discussed here compared to my usual way through Qantas. Do I actually need to travel to another country (if so which one?) to pay and pick up tickets?

Currently live in Brisbane Australia

Thanks in advance for your help on this matter.

Regards
Steven

You may be able to get the tickets sent to you by a TA, but you will have to start your RTW abroad. Please read the sticky at the top of this forum; it'll answer the basic RTW questions.

Thanks WearyBizTrvlr I have now read that Sticky, but still a little confused how it works.

Do I book with another TA in another country and if so which country do you recommend starting the journey from. Plus can I then end the trip in Australia?

Q: How much does the ticket cost?
A: The ticket is priced based on the number of continents you visit, a minimum of three and a maximum of six. The pricing varies depending on where in the world the ticket is issued. If want to try to save some money by starting your *ONE* somewhere other than your home to take advantage of local pricing and currency rate differences, do a search - there are various helpful posts around. Infants under 2 and not occupying a seat are charged 10% of the adult fare. Children 2-11 and occupying a seat are charged 75% of the adult fare, except for tickets originating in India where they pay 67% of the adult fare.
Fares from various countries may be found in this thread and this spreadsheet. You will need to have the ticket issued in that country by a TA or a OW airline.

One of the firm rules of all of the RTW fares are that you must end your trip "near" your point of origin ... the rules vary by fare, but generally it is in the country of origin. So to answer your question, no, you cannot end your RTW in Australia when originating in one of the lower-cost countries.
