BA or IB from LHR to DUR

I am looking at making this trip in the next couple of weeks. I will be flying from the US to LHR on AA. My question is which airline is the better of the two for this routing. I have never flown BA or IB.

Thanks for the help.

BA without a doubt when compared to IB in any class.

You can often get a discount IB J seat (I class) from LHR-JNB for $2.5K compared to more than twice that amount for BA. For many people, that kind of savings would make IB better in J. But if you are are using money as firewood, then it obviously would not matter.

I'm going to disagree with you on this one. Whilst down the back I think BA beats IB hands down. IB European J vs BA CE is a different story. Service is good and the food is definitely much better than BA.

Most people who whinge about IB generally have not flown IB. Unfortunately it is in serious need of an image boost.

FWIW, I find their cabin staff generally decent, but the ground staff surley.

One thing to consider if you're in the back is how many fellow transportees are with you. Checking some random days in the next couple of weeks on EF, it looks like the IB flights are very thinly populated in economy, whereas Y on BA is pretty full. On a redeye the possibility of stretching out on a whole row or having empty space next to you would tilt it to IB if it were me.

Another thing to look into is the Price of WT and WT+ are sometimes very close to that of IB J

Look at two tickets 1 to JNB and another on to DUR with comair
I was pricing something up to CPT a few weeks ago and the fare to JNB in J was 2k but to cape town the IB codeshare with comair added on anoth 6.000
