Advice needed on LAX to Shangai
Where can I find out if I can fly on a OneWorld airline partner from either LAX or SFO to Shangai with the following conditions:
1) Premium Economy -- must have a 2-3-2 or a 2-4-2 confirg
2) must earn miles on AA advantage program
Thanks for your help

Otherwise you could fly CX to HKG or AA to NRT and connect from there to PVG (but I don't think there is a OneWorld airline for that last bit).
Or slightly further fly QF to SYD then QF to PVG.
Or even further (but have premium economy!) BA to LHR, then BA to PVG.
There will be other routes but if you want to explore further, the only places you can fly to PVG on OneWorld airlines are from HEL, LHR, MEL and SYD (ignoring codeshares as I'm not sure if they earn miles - someone else will be able to give you much more information.)
Note if you are flying in economy then the amount of Q-points (needed for challenge - I assume you are on a challenge if your profile is up-to-date) you earn will vary depending on the airline/ booking class.
But like Yeti88 said - start a new thread - not many people will look in this post!

the only OW airline that i am aware of which has premium econ is BA - thus you would need to go via LHR and thus no AA miles.
I think it's the options as stated above, or LAX-ORD-PVG - but no premium econ.

Afaik it works if you fly from Canada to Europe.

The basic answer to the OP's question is that the only OW airline with economy plus is BA and they don't fly that route.

The only OW airline with E+ is BA, but to do this trip with BA through London just so one sits in E+ is ridiculous.
AA started ORD-PVG route just over a week ago. If one has any status, they can pick the prefered seats in Y on the 777 bird and if they get row 31, then IMHO it's better than E+ seat anyday. If no status then get to the airport early and hope some elites got upgraded to J, releasing row 31 seats for general public.

I am making my second trip to PVG next week using AA.
It is very hard to get seats on the AA PVG flight, at least in Business Class.
My alternative routing is BDL-DFW-KIX-PVG, using JL for the last leg. AA does not codeshare on this flight and, while you will earn AA miles, you will not earn status miles.
For the OP, since there really isn't a practical premium economy way to get there, I would reccomend AA from LAX to NRT and then JL to PVG.

On the way to PVG, you can do LAX/SFO AS YVR BA LHR BA PVG and fly WT+ on the BA segments and earn AAdvantage miles on all segments. On the return you can do PVG BA LHR BA YVR on one day, but ythen ou have to overnight there before continuing on to LAX/SFO on AS. Prices (for WT+) are in the mid-$2500 range.
