What's the maximum miles anyones squeezed out of a Aone4
Would be interested to know what is the most miles anyones managed on this ticket and what the routing was.
Perhaps there should be a sticky with a chart of miles and points gained for most effective routings.

About 75k, but it would be very difficult, time consuming, mostly in business, and will probably get you a few questions for the reason you gave. Not worth it, in my opinion. At this point, it's cheaper just to do bwi-lax returns at $200 each.
And the sticky is a bad idea, imo. Part of doing this is figuring out a routing that works for you. In addition, lots of the longer routes are or can be a bit sketchy, visas can be expensive, and a lot of people aren't going to do them anyway. Imagine explaining to a significant other or immigration officer why you spent $200+ on visas to go through Pakistan twice in as many days. That's even assuming you can convince the .... consulate first. It's also assuming you even could, since flights don't go there every day. Flights also change and a routing that is good today will probably change in a month since AA changes their routings fairly frequently.

It's also quite variable depending on start/end point, which continents in which order, and seasons (e.g. ANC service, longest F in N. America, is summer-only, while LAX-SJU, longest transcon, is also not year-round.) Intercontinental legs to/from South Africa are long, intra-Africa short. Or do you purchase additional segments in continents with long flight possibilities and give up segments in continents with short runs or limitations? Too many variables to make it a precise thing.

Here's one I just came-up with for a little over 71,000 flown miles. It includes two surface segments (NYC-DFW-NYC) and several flights in Business Class (not none of the inter-continental flights):

For maximum tier or Qpoints on a specific airline you might want to search for the words maximum or maximize with the airline name or code and maybe tier.

Just over 67,000 base miles and one must buy 2 extra segments in Europe/ME and one extra segment in N.America. There is a seasonal service LGA-POS, that's why I entered YVR-NYC as JFK & LGA are covered by the NYC code. The open jaw POS - LAX is a big problem though...

Try this. Minus the extra LAX-JFK, it's a bit over 69,000 flown miles. It will get you EXP with plenty of room to spare.

Actually, if taken at the right time of the year the above can be improved considerably by flying the seasonal direct flight SJU-ANC, thereby freeing an extra NA coupon, for a lot more miles.

Who flies this (SJU-ANC) and during what months? I didn't see it in the OW or AA timetables.
