Advice getting to ICN

I'm facing an around the world business trip using an OWE. Being London based I may try for an ex-IST with stopover in London but the first 'proper' leg is LHR to ICN.

Not sure yet if the budget will be for a DONE4 or AONE4 but given there are a number of vaguely sensible potential routings and airlines to get there [ICN] does anyone have experience/advice to offer?

The rest of the trip onwards to SYD-LAX-SFO-BOS-LHR is much more self defining given my dates/times of travel.

Thanks

CX as much as possible - especially if in First.

LHR-HKG-ICN? Then it's up to you to choose either BA or CX on the intercontinental flight. CX first is in my opinion more comfortable but BA staff better.

On the other hand, if you are a BA EC member, you'll get more miles from BA numbered flights than from CX numbered. Also, HKG-ICN-HKG flights seem to have a BA flight number on them.
