RTW ticket advice

A friend is interested in buying an RTW ticket on AA codes in economy or perhaps business if that is cheap starting from the cheapest point (which as I understand it, is CAI).

She wants to visit CPT and Maritius on separate occasions, and has reasons to go to Israel (TLV) and the USA (JFK, BOS) during the year of validity.

Is it possible to book an RTW ticket which would allow for some long stopovers (ie several weeeks/months) in LHR to separate the trips?

ie. the desired itinerary would really be something like
LHR-CPT-LHR-Maritius-LHR-TLV-LHR-JFK-LHR-BOS-LHR

Alternatively, if such stopovers are impossible, would it be possible to stopover in a city within striking distance of LHR (eg BRU, PAR) instead for some of the stopovers and then buy a cheap ticket on another airline or even a Eurostar to return to LON?

Finally, is it possible to get the flights as AA codeshares since that earns the most AA miles? A BA coded RTW ticket (especially in coach) is much less attractice because of their 25% meanness.

Thanks.

A Oneworld Explorer (*ONE*) RTW ticket must be a generally continuos route "around" the world such as Eu-Africa-Asia-NA-Eu. The suggested itinerary LHR-CPT-LHR-Maritius-LHR-TLV-LHR-JFK-LHR-BOS-LHR is not valid as too LHR stops, amongst many other problems.

Also put an itinerary into ONE checker

For AA codes shares look in the AA timetable from the AA web site. (in pdf or electronic format)

Oneworld Explorer (*ONE*) tickets are vaild for 12 months. Long stopovers and seperate side trips are not a problem

Look at the sticky on top of this forum and all the other posts. You have got a lot more work to do to get a valid itinerary.

As Mwenenzi said, your itinerary is nowhere near valid as it's not a Round The World one. What you have is a "fly from LHR to various places and back" itinerary. Moreover, the only flight to MRU is from LHR, so even combining CPT and MRU on a valid xONEx is impossible. And you can only cross the Atlantic once.

The stickies at the top of this forum will explain how RTWs work, but I suspect they're not going to be useful for your friend's travel plans.

Note a RTW fare is valid for 12 months so it is relatively easy to break your journey up and use mileage points earned on the RTW to come back to home.

eg.
RTW : LHR-LAX-MIA-JFK (using intercon and US trancon)
Points: JFK-LHR
3 months down the track
Points: LHR-JFK
RTW:JFK-HKG-DEL-HKG
Points: HKG-LHR
Another 3 months
Points : LHR-HKG
HKG-SYD-AKL-ADL-PER-SYD-LHR

(an example of an XONE4 from London with separate visitis to US, Asia and Australia. Could also tag some Euro flights onto the end of this)
