Upgrade in One world
Hi!! I am flying with BA to Beijing through LHR. I am aBIN eria Gold Card (Ow saphire) Does anyone know the upgrading policy in BA for OW passengers? I almost always get an upgrade with Iberia!!!

I'm not optimistic of your chances for getting an upgrade on a BA flight. If you visit the BA board, they have a sticky thread that talks about upgrades. Still, I think you'd best expect to fly in the class for which you have paid.

You will be very lucky to get any upgrade on BA. Even as BA Gold, I rarely get upgraded. It is BA's policy to only upgrade when strictly neccessary, so unless your flight is very full and there are no BA Golds ahead of you, you will be stuck in your original seat I'm afraid.

IB did upgrade me once...
Actually ended up with an Op Up, MAD to ORD, last summer... a very comfortable ride back "home" for what I told my wife was for being really really nice to the GA... it helped that the people behind us in line were hollering and complaining about every conceivable thing... I was a lowly AA Gold flying back on IB during the peak summer season...

I got it!!!
Some of you were not optimistic. As easy as checking in in Beijing, Business Class counter, as I am A o ne world saphire card holder, and , voila! Sir, you have been upgraded!, goes the BA guy. IS the plane full? I ask. No, he goes, courtesy of British Airways.
May be a lucky guy, but 1 out of 2 is not a bad average.
