Laptop Power Adapter
I recently purchased a laptop adapter onboard a CX flight. It's the adapter that is featured in the onboard Duty Free magazine. It has served me well on three of my four CX flights. Can anyone tell me if it will be of any use on my remaining DONE5 flights which will be on Qantas, Lan Chile, and Iberia?
Thanks,

Most airlines are converting away from Empower as they upgrade their aircraft. Older aircraft tend to have empower; newer cabin refits tend to have either US 3-prong 110V AC or automobile cigarette lighter 12V DC style. All of the airlines that you mention have a mixed fleet; you really have to carry all 3 kinds (which you would in any case, for ground use). There probably will never be a fleetwide standard in the airline industry, but Empower tried to be that standard and has clearly failed and seems to be on its way out.

With QF, the 747s and 333s have in seat power. All the 333s and most of the 747s (those with skybeds )will take a variety of normal plugs ( including iirc the US ) whilst the remaining 747s with dreamtime seats take the cigar lighter adapter style power
If you are travelling on other QF aircraft the only laptop power is your laptop's battery
