FRA lounges

Hi,

I will be flying DFW-FRA and would like to use one of the OneWorld lounges while waiting for my return flight. I am a AAdvantage Platinum. I noticed AA, BA and CX all have lounges there. However, the BA and CX lounges are in terminal 2. AA flies out of terminal 1.

My companion is flying out 4 hours after I depart (around 6pm). I was wondering if one of these lounges was better. Should I stick with the AA lounge in terminal 1? I seem to recall they close a little early, probably right after my flight which is around 2pm.

It is more for he than me. Any suggestions?

She has no status. If I get her in, will she not be able to get back in if she comes out to see me off?

Thanks.

I'm not sure of the details of the lounges in FRA, but in principle if you are taking a guest into a OW lounge then when you leave they must leave too. This isn't always enforced, but it is the rule.

The AA lounge in FRA (landside) is now a member of PriorityPass. They state that the lounge is open from 07.00 until 20.00.

To be honest however, the AA lounge is not that nice anyway.

Pardon my ignorance but what is PriorityPass? I had a feeling AA lounge was not going to be very nice. How about the BA and CX lounges?

Hi MilesJunkie,

Welcome to FT!

Using the search function is an excellent method to find information and also continue discussions on one thread to build upon it over time rather than have discussions scattered.

Here are two threads along the lines of what you're looking for. Found them with a search using "FRA lounge". One from OW forum and another from BA forum.

Here's another link that StewieMac provided me in a past query on OW lounges:

Cheers.

Priority pass

To answer you question, Priority Pass is a way for anyone to get into lounges all over the world (www.prioritypass.com).
I think it could be good if
a) you fly a lot all over the world with a lot of different airlines/alliances and don't have FF status with (all of) them
b) you are just curious about some lounges
c) you get PP comped or your employer pays for it
d) you fly a lot to a specific destination where the only way for you to get lounge access is PP
e) it gives you lounge access at some popular tourist destinations, eg. at Canary Islands, St. Lucia etc. regardless of airline flown

I don't have it because
a) it is more expensive than occasionally sitting in the airport restaurant
b) The Diners Club card gets me in about 80 lounges around the world (also Frankfurt)
c) my FF statuses now gets me into lounges at most airports (has not always been like that)
d) even PP doesn't have lounges at some important airports, eg. OSL

The BA and CX lounges (and the Delta Crown Lounge that QF use) are after immigration, so you will not be able to get to them. So that only leave the AA lounge as option.

The BA lounge is small and often crowded. CX use a shared/partner lounge, but I can't remember whose it is right now. Quite nice though.
