Question any BA fees for date/time changes

went thru some of the past threads to see what the current state of BA fees are for date/time changes only. i recall christep saying that ba at lhr t4 charges 25 gbp to put a sticker on a flight whose only change was date or time. johnax said that lax ba ticket counter did a sticker and no fuss no worry. want to change from the night time lhr-dxb to the day time flight, so it should not involve any fees? correct?

for what it is worth, the segement in question is the last coupon in a hand written ticket, but not open dated. i really had planned on flying at that date/time. should i want until i get to london or try to change the ticket here in the usa. i would of course make sure that a class was available before doing anything.

I would make a new reservation for the flight you want, cancel the old reservation and just check-in with the ticket as is. There is no requirement for the date on the ticket to match the reservation - the ticket is not endorsed "VALID DATE/FLT SHOWN". BA check-in might take the ticket to a ticketing counter to get a sticker put on, which always strikes me as rather unnecessary, but certainly if you are checking in at an F counter in LHR they will do this for you and it's no big deal.

I don't recall BA ever charging me GBP25 for a date change - they have charged me that in addition to the USD75 for a routing change when I didn't have time to get to another airline for them to do it. (But I may have forgotten - I've done a lot of these tickets - so if I did report it here then feel free to remind me.)

BA is quite good about taking coupons with wrong dates at the airport, even pulling multiple coupons (A-B-C for A-C non-stop) particularly if you are switching carriers ... all without a fee. They are sticklers for rules but sometimes that works to your advantage (when the rules are on your side, or there is a gray area and they want it). Best I can tell the extra GBP 25 fee levied by BA is only for ticket reissues when the USD 75 fee applies.

I managed to get BA to reissue an AONE3 at MAN a few weeks ago for the $75 fee + additional taxes, but no 25 fee.
