On Globalxx Milage, can I change segment destinations

Hi i'm new to the site. currently travelling on a one world D class - milage fare. I wanted to re-route my ticket from AKL - SYD - HNL - LAX, to AKL - Tahiti - Lax.

My Irish travel agent says that it not possible to change destinations within D Class, which seems ridiculas. I met a member of the site, Johnny - who said that there are very knowledgable members here who answer questions like mine often, and also said that Irish travel agents are renouned for not understanding one-world tickets.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to FT ^

A Oneworld Explorer DONEx fare is a continent based round the world fare (not milage based). You cannot go to Tahiti on a DONE ticket (as no eglible carrier's)

The milage based ticket is Global Explorer (GLOBxx), which can use some code share airlines that go into the south pacific

What ticket type do have ??

On GLOBxx (i guess)

Thanks for your speedy response. I guess we are on a GLOBxx D Class, as we have limited miles. Do you think it will be possible to change with this ticket?

The DGLOB34 ticket is limited to 34,000 miles in total.

On that ticket, there are very specific rules relating to routing changes that depend on whether the ticket has been issued or not (I assume it has been) and wherther or not travel had commenced.

Once the ticket has been issued, you cannot make any change to the first international flight or any preceeding domestic flights of the itinerary.

A change to the routing requires the ticket to be reissued, and that incurs a cost (US$75 or equiv) and the ticket cost will be recalculated according to the prevailing rules, fares, taxes, levies and surcharges at the time of reissue.

GLOBEX Star Files

Hey Ludo,

I hope all is well

I have worked out your call name. We have made it to AKL with working computers.

Please find the link to your tickets starfiles (http://members.shaw.ca/fewmiles/oneworld/globex.html)

Print it out and have a look - in theory your tkt can be changed with a penalty of $75. I guess it really depends if your route changes will exceed the KMs allowed and whether you are backtracking or violating some other rule.

If you can please list your whole itinerary the original and the one you would prefer and either I or someone here will get back to you.

Have a good time at the beach

That is actually a VERY old Starfile. The current version of the Global Explorer fares and rules is here, though I don't belive there has been any changes to the changes section.

Original itinerary for globxx

ORK (EI) X/LON (BA) JNB (QF) X/SYD (QF) CHC//AKL (QF) SYD (QF) HNL // LAX (QF) NYC // BDA (BA) X LON (EI)

At the moment we are in Auckland, from here the itinerary we wanted to change to is as follows: (PPT = Pape'ete Tahiti)
From: AKL (QF) SYD (QF) HNL // LAX (QF)

To: AKL (QF) PPT (?) LAX (QF)

Or: AKL (QF) SYD (QF) PPT (?) LAX (QF)

I think your problem is more related to flight availability than the ability to make changes under the fare rules.

You can only include the QF codeshares on TN (Air Tahiti Nui), and they operate Sunday, Thursday and Friday as QF3825 AKL-PPT only. There is no QF codeshare on TN services between SYD and PPT. So you would need to go AKL-SYD-AKL-PPT-LAX.

QF codeare as QF3827 6 days a week PPT-LAX, so that leg should be ok.

HI Ludo,

I had a look and QF3825 is showing good availability for 26th May (no problems with the football).

Look at the Itin I don't see why this can't be changed. Igonre what your travel agent is telling you - just go down th QF on Queen St and tell them that this is what you want to do.

All the best

Successful, good on ya, jonnny.

Ya, you were absolutely right. (First, How about those Reds) Qantas on Queen Street were great. We leave for Tahiti tomorrow - didn't have to back through sydney. Thenstraight to SF, dont have to go through LAX, and some more great changes also included. Altogether Brillant.

BTW, We lost your e-mail addresses. So can you send one to ours when you get a chance.

Thanks Again,
LU&DO
