EUR-SWP rule
I am planning on the following DONE4 ex BKK:
BKK-HKGx-JFK-SFO-LHR-DXB-LHR-HKGx-SYD-AKL-HKG-BKK (Other MR segments not included here).
I confirmed with CX BKK that the above is permissible (incl LHR-HKGx-SYD).
Someone mentioned that it is not permissible if you are ex ASIA but theCX ticket agent said not true and I can even do USA as well.
I seems that the 2 Intercont sectors within the continent rule is really open to interuptation.

Thanks for your reply.
Just want to ask you is it worthwhile starting in CMB instead of BKK.
As i am claiming a Z Class award ticekt from SYD-BKK, If I start the DONE4 @ CMB then I will need to purchase a BKK-CMB reutrn ticket and it might not work out as cheap ( I presume a Y Class return on CX will be around 400USD)
Also the CMB-HKG is on the dreaded NRBC or ORBC seating (certainly not something I want to be stuck with on a 8 hr flight to HKG)

I would highly recommend a visit even if you only lie by the pool most of the time in Negombo. Kinda of humid at the moment though. Hopefully we will get to use the final coupon HKG-CMB in Feb/Mar when the weather is better.
I'll worry about CMB-PER when we get closer to using the last leg.
Had no trouble with the seats on the 773. Just remember to unlatch the bottom of the footrest. Stop in SIN was a pain but I slept through almost all of it. Continuing PAX cannot deplane in SIN. And the flight filled up completely. Stops in BKK 3 days/week SIN 3 days.
Maybe the 773 rests on the seventh.
Happy wandering

Travel opinions from a stranger are useless, but we didn't find Negombo something we'd look forward to again. If you pick a day the 777 isn't resting, Cathay should hand you your tickets and let you be on your way with nothing worse than brief exposure to a very dreary airport. Show your inbound bp's and Cathay will probably not charge departure tax.

YEah that is what I will do if I wanted to start in CMB (just an instant turnaround. Urmmm. Maybe it is a possibility, but I will have to waste 2 days of my vactaion to do this as my BA flight to BKK is arriving @ 2130 so I need to wait till the following night to get the service to CMB and then back to HKG.
In net effect I only save around 500USD and all these hassle seems to be a bit too much than the incentive and the added inflexibility (having to fly HKG-CMB and then CMB-BKK in order for me to use my Z Class BKK-SYD ticket home.

With QFF, Starting in CMB also gives another 80 SC's.
Also an extra 2000 points or Asia Miles with CX.

I know about the extra miles I get but it will:
1) stuff up my original planned Z Class upgrade on CX BKK-JFK//LHR-HKG-BKK
2) wasting 1-2 days of my vacation
3) bad connection time to the CX888 (in the sense that I can't stay overnight in HKG to avoid the 2 stopover rule - as i want to goto NRT and stop HKG on the way back as well)
4) extra hassle on the ticket to CMB.
On the way back I have to goto CMB (or I MIGHT be able to sneak out @ BKK????, wouldn't risk that actually, don't want to be on the CX blacklist )
But I will still consider it!
