GlobEx ex Tonga (TBU)?

Hi, I am looking at starting a GE from Tonga (TBU). Why TBU? (a) Nice place to visit, (b) cheap, at under $1500 USD pre-tax in Y.

My ideal start point would be AKL, so TBU is actually not too far out of the way for me (AKL-TBU o/w is about USD$150) and it doesn't have seasonal restrictions.

Question - has anyone started a GE in TBU? Is there a hidden downside? Any recommendations for travel agents? Other advice in general...

Thanks.

I'll be very curious to read responses to this, or, absent any, your experience as you progress. It makes me wonder if anyone has started xONExs from Djibouti.

A global explorer will work because the QF codeshare is eligible; xone won't because the codeshare is not eligible.
AFAIK, there are still no eligible OW flights from JIB so no xone.

And here I thought BMed served Djibouti, hence its inclusion in (what must now be out of date) fare tables in the star file. Not that I'm heartbroken.

JIB was served by Regional Air (bookable using xONEx) until a few weeks ago!
