Anyone used MS to get to CAI recently?

I did a JFK-CAI on them a few years back and ticketed using the "old" ITN.net. The new-improved site doesn't even show their flights, nor did the couple of others I tried. Anyone know how to get good pricing and ticketing on them? I suppose calling them in New York and being a bit reluctant when they mention the price might work.

The last time I saw a price quote (late last year on ITN before the format change), they jacked the one-way F fare up a $1000 to about $2500. I thought it is good deal at $1500, but at $2500, it defeats the purpose of going to CAI for the ticket.

Thanks. I wonder what it means that the standard booking services (itn, expedia, etc) don't even acknowledge that they exist now.

I'd give them a call.

If you do, please report back to see if they quote you the $2500 fare.

Interesting. I ticketed CAI-IST on MS through Expedia back in November or December. Of course they charged $10 a ticket, but I suspect that MS still pays TA's commissions...

Now, can anyone tell my why Orbitz can't ticket anything originating outside of the U.S.? They had been my first inquiry and obviously lost that business plus two other tickets.

EgyptAir J product

I flew JFK-CAI 2 years ago on EgyptAir in J. Seats weren't that nice. Not great recline, minimal footrest. Preboarding lounge was Swiss Air, and very nice with full dinner meal buffet (beef, chicken or fish) before departure. I got fare of < $1500 one way on Expedia (but couldn't get that fare anywhere else, including phone call to EgyptAir). I just keep ending one RTW in CAI and start another there every year. Will be doing #4 in June.

Well, MS must have divorced itself from all the booking engines somehow. I checked Expedia a few days ago and it's not in their list, nor did it come up in the JFK-CAI request. I asked expedia.co.uk the same question, still no MS.

Slightly OT but out of interest PresRDC do you actually pay for access to ExpertFlyer. It seems useful but then you can get most, if not all, of the info that they charge USD 99 / year for here:

and here:

What's the appeal, is there more than what they describe on the promotional blurb or are you prepared to pay for having the info in one place?

And thanks MiamiPrep for the testimonial (if we can call it that ), I suspect on a short leg like CAI/TIP it'll be even less luxurious

Yeah, I pay for it. I find it to eb agood service with responsive customer service. I'd say the biggest attribute is that it is "one stop shopping" and allows you to store queries. For a while, it allowed you access to your PNRs, including the comments inserted by the airlien (for AA at least). it was great, but AA foudn-out and but the kibash on it. Too bad.

For those you who missed it when I posted it a year ago, here is the link to a trip report I did about MS' First Class service between JFK and CAI:

Enjoy!
