Got some unexpected error messages when I plugged the following itinerary into the OWE Validator:l
bos-lhr-dxb-amm-hkg-per-syd-jfk-yvr-dfw-anc-dfw-hnl
Messages are:
Rule violated!!!! [DFW-ANC] Max 1 segment(s): One intl departure/arrival from country of origin
...
Rule violated!!!! [DFW-HNL] Max 1 segment(s): One intl departure/arrival from country of origin
...
Rule violated!!! Must start/end in same region/country!

If you change the HNL to LAX http://www.slfft.org/mm/award.htm?ow...y#.T_DJOpERI0M
Get
Rule violated!!!! [DFW-ANC] Max 1 segment(s): One intl departure/arrival from country of origin
10: DFW-ANC: 3rd of 6 (North America)

Something to do with YVR not being in the USA

Then mileage monkey does not handle the allowed exception to the rule:

F.ONLY ONE INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURE AND ONE INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL TO/FROM THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN PERMITTED ...
NOTE - TRAVEL BETWEEN US AND CANADA IS NOT COUNTED AS INTERNATIONAL.
...
Any ideas on why ending in HNL is causing a problem?

Edited to add: Just been playing with the Oneworld booking tool - it allows the itinerary to start in BOS and end in HNL

(It did point out that my proposed stop in ANC would not be allowed - that would mean 3 stopovers in continent of origin, 2 of which are in the country of origin - I'd somehow managed to forget about the JFK stopover. Doh!:o))

Thanks - I've added this to my issue tracking list, and will investigate shortly (probably at the weekend).

Should be fixed now, in 0.95046. Issue was with how Alaska & Hawaii were being handled - i.e. not part of the 48 contiguous states. Please advise if any issues. BOS-LHR-DXB-AMM-HKG-PER-SYD-JFK-YVR-DFW-ANC-DFW-HNL is now valid per MM.

Note - as MM does not have any flight dates, it assumes that all connections are transits. I.e. it cannot detect/check stopover conditions.

Should be fixed from 0.95048 which is now available. Please advise if you see otherwise.

Just been playing with the tool, including some MH flights in an itinerary (in anticipation of its shortly being part of OW)

Appears to be showing that KUL-MLE and MLE-KUL are intercontinental flights:confused:

Thanks - should be fixed now (0.95051). MM didn't have the Maldives located in any continent, I've put them in Asia ;)

Yet more playing with the tool has brought to light another oddity...:D

In the OWE Planner, putting
From: NRT To: ~SWP
Gives: SYD and CNS (as expected), but also ROR and GUM (unexpected)
The Oneworld Explorer Validator shows the following as valid (as expected)
LHR-NRT-ROR-NRT-GUM-NRT-SYD-JFK-LHR
But it does show each flight as intercontinental:confused:

Thanks - ROR & GUM are included in the south west pacific zone in MM - so should they be Asia? According to the OW rules, both Asia and SWP are part of TC3 zone.

The way that MM calculates the validity of flights (e.g. NRT-ROR) within OW is independent of which continent (e.g. Asia or SWP) it thinks they are located in.

Yes: both in Asia
