am I right to assume that my itinerrary would still be okay drw-cns surface to syd -chc- surface to akl and then continue as planned . I would like to add more mileage any suggestions gratefully recieved .current mileage excluding my surface changes is 52633 Elo

You have two transcons in NA - no can do.

61N . 6. WITHIN THE US/CANADA-
62N .
63N . A. 1 NONSTOP OR SINGLE PLANE TRANSCONTINENTAL
64N . FLIGHT PERMITTED.
65N . TRANSCONTINENTAL FLIGHT IS DEFINED AS TRAVEL
66N . BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING CITIES:
67N .
68N . BWI/BOS/FLL/BDL/MIA/EWR/NYC/ORL/PHL/SJU/YYZ/WAS
69N . AND
70N . LAS/LGB/LAX/OAK/SNA/PDX/SAN/SFO/SEA/SJC/YVR

Good morning Jerry. I am fairly new to FF At the moment this is my valid itinerary according to the Validator .cai-lhr-jnb-hkg-per-adl-drw-cns,syd-chc,akl-scl-lima-eze-gru-mia-lax 1st NA transcon. lax-nyc-sju-nyc-hel-lhr-dxb ,but the problem seems to be svo to lhr Elo

jerry a. laska is right, and the Validator wrong, probably because of the use of "NYC". Substitute such generic city code for JFK and you will see it.

ELO Feb 16, 2005 11:07 am

Once again Viajero . Thanks I will check the Validator and do a a little diversion lax-bos
surface to nyc

MIA-LAX-BOS is still two transcons in NA which is prohibited by the rule I quoted above.

ELO Feb 16, 2005 11:21 am

Thanks Jerry its back to the drawing board for me , it is still fun

ELO Feb 16, 2005 12:06 pm

How does one get round using the 6 segments for the NA avoiding the transcon, its blown my rtw apart Elo

Gardyloo Feb 16, 2005 12:38 pm

You go GRU-DFW-LAX-JFK... not GRU-MIA-LAX-JFK....

If you want to get long segments in for BA tier points, remember that both ORD-SJU and DFW-SJU are over 2000 mi., and the SJU-LAX transcon is still in the schedule.

ELO Feb 17, 2005 5:49 am

Hi Gardyloo. Thanks for the tips I will work them into my schedule, and hopefully I will be able to complete my Itinerary, and I thought work was hard? . Have a good day Elo

Ha! wait till you try to plan for a full RTW with your better half (BH)!

Self: "We have a few hours, great!, let's spend them in the Wing/Pier"
BH: "Let's go shopping"

Self: "Let's do a CAI turnaround"
BH: "Let's see the Cairo Museum".

Self: "Let's do DFW-ANC-ORD in two days!"
BH: "Are you nuts?"

Self: "Right, everything in the TravelPro!"
BH: "Piece system means ONLY two suitcases?"

Self: "But honey, MEL-LST-MEL is only 400 lousy miles!"
BH: "What's wrong with that?"

... :D

OMG I thought I had that conversation under copyright.

"Honey, we're going to Istanbul for three days to buy expensive plane tickets."

"Say what?"
