I am looking at options for a xONEx. I have a query about sections 4(C)2) and 4(H) from the following oneWORLD EXPLORER FARES document. Excerpt follows:
Does this mean that if I start from, say, SWP -> EUROPE via ASIA on two segments with a "transfer without stopover" (e.g. QF127 SYD-HKG, QF29 HKG-LHR 4 hours later), I can come back via NA and do up to 4 segments in ASIA before returning to SWP?
Conversely if I flew "ON A SINGLE FLIGHT NUMBER" QF29 SYD-HKG-LHR, have I then "done" ASIA and its 4 segments and may only return (say via NRT)?
Am I missing something here?
Code:
4. FLIGHT APPLICATION/ROUTINGS . (C) ONLY ONE INTERCONTINENTAL DEPARTURE AND ONE INTERCONTINENTAL ARRIVAL PERMITTED IN EACH CONTINENT EXCEPT AS FOLLOWS: . 2) TWO PERMITTED IN ASIA WHEN ONE IS A TRANSFER WITHOUT STOPOVER OR ON DIRECT SINGLE PLANE SERVICE BETWEEN THE SOUTHWEST PACIFIC AND EUROPE. . (H) TRAVEL BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND EUROPE ON A SINGLE FLIGHT NUMBER IS CONSIDERED TRAVELING SW PACIFIC-ASIA-EUROPE THROUGH THREE CONTINENTS. .
Conversely if I flew "ON A SINGLE FLIGHT NUMBER" QF29 SYD-HKG-LHR, have I then "done" ASIA and its 4 segments and may only return (say via NRT)?
Am I missing something here?

In your second scenario you are still just transitting Asia and can use your 4 Asian segments after North America still.
That rule about transiting Asia is there to insure you have to include Asia as one of your xONEx continents.

Valid Routing?
So this would be a valid routing:
SYD-1-HKG-2-LHR-3-<3 europe segs>-7-<4 NA segs>-12-<3 Asia segs>-16-MEL-17-AKL-18-MEL-19-AKL-20-SYD
SYD-1-HKG-2-LHR-3-<3 europe segs>-7-<4 NA segs>-12-<3 Asia segs>-16-MEL-17-AKL-18-MEL-19-AKL-20-SYD

No - you can only leave and enter the originating country once. Aus and NZ are separate countries (only US/Canada and Norway/Sweden/Denmark are regarded as one country for the purposes of this rule).

Ok, How about this?:
SYD-1-HKG-2-LHR-3-<3 europe segs>-7-<4 NA segs>-12-<3 Asia segs>-16-MEL-17-PER-18-MEL-19-BME-20-SYD
SYD-1-HKG-2-LHR-3-<3 europe segs>-7-<4 NA segs>-12-<3 Asia segs>-16-MEL-17-PER-18-MEL-19-BME-20-SYD

number_6, Thanks for that. I actually live in MEL and was trying to see if I could get a couple of end of circut trips by starting in SYD. The originating country rule put paid to that.
I is good though that I can go from SWP to europe via HKG/SIN/BKK without using up my ASIA routings. (MR maximiser)
I may investigate starting in another continent. Of course, relative A/D/L ONE* costs are an issue.

FWIW:
Code:
SYD-HKG-LHR-HEL-FCO-LHR-LAX-MIA-JFK-NRT-HKG-SIN-HKG-NRT-MEL-PER-MEL-BME-SYD
<----Europe---> <N.America> <-------Asia------> <Sth. West Pacific >

I am looking at a LONE4 and Australia is the least expensive place to purchase one. NZ is 10% more and other nearby countries much more.

I think the answer is yes (unfortunately) but I just want to check.
Thanks
