CX issuing RTW set up by AA?
Knowing that the AA ticket will be closed shortly after I land at TPE and I won't make it there to ticket an ex-TPE RTW, I called the office to see what options I have for issuing it remotely.
They suggested that when I land at TPE I go to the CX desk and have them issue the ticket. The AA agent in TPE (at China Express Limited) put me on hold, contacted CX, and said that she would fax my itinerary info to CX for them to have ready for ticketing. She sounded competent and assured me that all I need to do is go to the CX agent and have the ticket issued. The price would be the same.
My question: does this sound good to you experts? Any reason to be doubtful? The first segment is on CX, and CX (I was told) can see the record and issue it. What do you all think? Thanks!

The question is : who will be holding the active flight records... CX or AA?
Wouldn't it be easier for CX to take over the booking entirely then to issue the ticket? I don't know if CX will be inputting the flights in as passive or booking it as active and then asking AA (or not) to cancel their bookings.
CX I think will still need to price the ticket through their fare desk especially if the tickets are to be booked on their ticket stock. CX may be able to 'see' your AA booking but they are the ones doing the ticketing. So their rules apply and CX has been known to interpret RTW fare rules very differently from their oneworld counterparts. The fare may be the same but the taxes won't as CX's CRS uses different exchange rates.. not by much anyway.
