Quick Help with Mileage Max
I have 3 NA segments left on my DONE4 RTW. I live in MIA. (FLL is also possible departure). Any suggestions to maximize miles for these 3 segments in January. I have already done my transcontinental (LAX-SJU), so will have to do shorter segs.
Best I can see is MIA-ORD-MEX-MIA all on AA metal. I have never been to MEX, so that should be fun. Also, MIA-ORD-SDQ, as I have never been to DR -- but that does not net as many miles.
Any quick thoughts would be appreciated. My last N/A segment is reserved for MIA-JFK to connect with my QF flight JFK-SYD -- a gazillion miles for one segment!

I like the above. However, has anyone done a turn-around in SJO? Do I have to clear customs? I went to Costa Rica few months back, and it took about 2-1/2 hours to clear the X-ray machines at customs. What a drag!!! I don't know if this was a one-time thing, but defintely made me think twice about going back to SJO for a long weekend...

For max comfort, how about this little day trip:
MIA-DFW AA908 (777)
DFW-LAX AA2421 (777)
LAX-DFW AA2426 (777)
overnight...then
DFW-JFK (any flight)
It's not as many miles as trying to connect through SJO but would certainly be much more relaxing in the first class suites compared to any narrow-body option.
Then again, Costa Rica is always a nice stopover if you have the time...
