LA is adding more frequency for SCL-AKL-SYD starting soon (whenever they get an A343 freed up, probably pulling it from the SCL-LAX route). Don't know the exact details but it is soon and 1 extra day a week. This would of course increase A/D inventory by 33% on this route!

According to the OW timetable, SCL-AKL/SYD adds a Thursday departure on December 9th (so M/W/Th/Sa), and AKL/SYD-SCL adds a Saturday departure on the 11th (so M/W/F/Sa).

Perhaps that's why I see A availability for my SYD-AKL in early January!

Just an update for anyone following this thread:
While ITN showed A availability (A4), AA was still unable to book this in First as the "direct access" system did NOT have any A inventory available.
Full detail posted in:

However, I had NO problems getting 2 F seats on any of my other flights:
JFK-SYD, SYD-BKK, BKK-SIN, KIX-HKG, HKG-JNB, CPT-LHR, LHR-LAX, SFO-JFK.
(this is a RTW beginning Jan through March 05)

If you thought an A class seat was hard to get on CX, just try finding one in Z!!!

I've never had a problem getting A seats on CX, including the CX 831. For that flight, I was on a waitlist for approximately one week, but it cleared mon ths before the flight. As LAN, my advice is to always check codeshares. I have always been able to get an A seat on the SCL-North America flights by booking it under the AA codeshare number. I am pretty sure IB codeshares with LA on the MAD-SCl flight and I know QF codeshares on the SYD-SCL flight.

Never had a problem with that either. Maybe I'm just lucky.
