As I was playing with the oneworld electronic timetable, I stumbled upon a hitherto unknown destination which could be useful for xONEx planning if you want to end it all in an exotic place. The airport code is QZX and is listed as "Fictitious Pt Gmt Off-line Pt ZZ." It's not even hard to get to, as it's served daily by EI 933 from DUB, departing at 10pm, arriving at 11pm. A short two-hour flight on the EI 747 at that! However, it seems you can't do DUB-QZX (no matches), but it will find LHR-DUB-QZX for instance. The duration of this flight is 4h50m, so it seems QZX is one timezone west of DUB. One problem seems to be that there are no flights departing from QZX, so it looks like a one-way trip...

Now to figure out the mileage... any ideas where I can find it?

Typical of that clunky e-timetable. QZX is the old code for UBG, Lutenblag, Molvania. Look here.

And of course you can fly in but not out. The arresting net is fine for landings, but the catapult has been inop for years, so no takeoffs by anything bigger than a Harrier. The EI 747s that occasionally don't "divert" away from UBG/QZX (as if) are put to good use by the Molvanian Foreign Ministry as VIP hotels once they're untangled from the net and parked over by the donkey barn.

As for the miles, once you've tasted Molvanian hospitality, who would want to travel any more?
