Cost per mile...
I have seen several posts where comments are madem about the cost per mile...i just wonder what is regarded as standard or bargain or whatever. Obviously the rates will be markedly different for different classes of travel.
Do they differ substantially between domestic and overseas flights?
I will appreciate comments from more knowledgeable forum users.

Well--in the USA, the costs per mile of flying defies Newton's Laws of Physics.
For example:
PIT to LGW-----> $238 rt---3537 miles-->3.36 cents per mile
DUB to SEA-----> $298 rt---2600 miles-->5.73 cents per mile
PIT to BWI------>$350 rt---250 miles--->70.0 cents per mile*
*for clarification, this number is indeed seventy-point-zero. The math is correct and the decimal point is correctly placed.....
**not included in this valuation is the further illogic of food/beverages being served on longer flights where as on short flights, you are lucky to get a couple of peanuts during the excursion. This fact tends to further drive down the perceived cost of long trips and increases the perceived cost of short trips.....
