World Traveller Plus

Would travel on BA in W or T classes earn QFF points? Bonus for Silver? SCs?

I am considering this for a Europe fare where you may also travel via the USA in one direction and return via BKK or SIN in the other.

Thanks for feedback.

"Would travel on BA in W or T classes earn QFF points?"

Yes. 110% of miles flown

"Bonus for Silver?"

25% of miles flown

"SCs?""

As for full economy (rather than discount )

Thanks Dave...would you consider fares in W and T class to qualify for the 15000 points bonus offered by OW? The site specifically refers to Y,B and H in economy fares as qualifying. Of course, the other conditions of the promotion need to be met.

Well, I would think that quite possibly it wouldn't, though I would suggest asking QF since W and T are viewed in the realm of full fare tickets

True , but the Qantas website doesn't and they're the ones that are going to give out the points. Qantas's listed restrictions are

"This offer is valid when travelling in First, Business and on Fullly Flexible Economy fares in Economy (classes Y,B or H)."

There is no mention of T or W classes on BA

Ybh

The QF site is particularly bad in this respect. I have just been nailed with the difference between full economy and full economy. B and H fares are full economy miles and discount economy status. All I wanted was the status points, stuff the miles. Now I have wasted hundreds of dollars on the higher fare groups. OK, it is my fault but the difference is not exactly clear. Just to confuse me further, on a BA EC card, then YBH is full economy for both status and miles.

I think that W is the full WTP fare and T is the discount fare. You had better check this carefully but I have not heard of T fares being considered as anything other than WTP elegible for awards.

Ex-Australia:

W - is the SIN/BKK fare
T - is the HKG/JNB etc fare

Both W and T earn full Y SCs + the 10% cabin bonus. Trust me.

Oke, granted I have no idea, coz I've never done WTP, but it makes sense that W is "full" WTP and T is "discount" WTP - since the WTP option on OWE tickets is booked in T, regardless of one's routing. And at a surcharge of $AUD600 per sector, I would friggen-well hope that T would earn full SC and 10% bonus over Y, just like W would... although... far be it from QF to try screwing over their QFF members...

T is discount WT+ and W is Full WT+ on all BA routes that I am aware of. QF DO definately give Full Economy status credits plus 10% mileage bonus for both T and W classes.

As far as the OW 15000 promotion goes, I queried it with QF today and they stated that W and T classes on BA will count as eligable fare bases

As it says on the QF website (http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/...ngPoints/index)

Cabin class bonus
A Cabin class bonus is awarded on eligible Qantas Business and First fares. The bonus is applied to the base Economy accrual rate:

25% for Business fares, and
50% for First fares
Additionally, all members will receive a 10% Cabin class bonus when flying on British Airways in World Traveller Plus.
