ONEx Guru's challenge
Here is what I am looking at. I have outlined my travel plans for 2005, and obviously want to take advantage of as many AONEx's as possible. I realize that there are going to be several US-UK round trips, but I think I have been looking at this too long because I am running into walls. If anyone wants to attempt to come up with the best way to plan this I would appreciate it. As I said, I think I haven't been thinking out of the box, and that is maybe what I am missing. So here is my 2005 travel plan, anyone care to give it a go?

Hi HRHAndrew,
Before I attempt to help you, I have some questions for you.
What are your aims?
Do you want status or going for top tier with other airlines?
Do you want as many miles as possible, shortest route possible or like to venture off to see other places in the time you have spare?
You do realise the value of AONEX's are diminishing with the phasing out of First class on many routes and airlines. It may be worth considering a Business Class RTW product. There are many options available with varying RTW products with oneworld.

I am a current exp on AA, and I believe that these trips should exceed 100,000. It is my wish to do as much long distance flying in first as possible. That is part of the quandry. Sadly I won't have any spare time to go anywhere other than indicated. Maximizing miles is not too much of a big deal, as I said I think I will requalify for exp on AA. I am currently on a basic DONE3, and all of my long flights have first class. Part of the appeal in booking in first.

LHR and GRR being the major hubs for your intended flights, IMO this does not leave much for the imagination price wise. I have looked at JNB,LHR and HKG as some starting points but this does not work out ideally price wise. As you indicated you have no time for other flights, which I am finding hard to play with. I hope others can be of more help. I was going to nest the RTW's but not sure if price is of any concern to you.
Some other suggestions as requested.
DUR-PLZ is not a direct flight using OW. Can do DUR-JNB-PLZ or use cheap alternative on SA or LCC.
HKG-LAX-ORD-GRR. This is to enjoy the service of CX F.
SYD-LAX-ORD-GRR Quickest Route.
BOM-LHR-ORD-GRR Quickest Route.
