Talking Hkg To Hkt

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has flown Thai airways' business class from Hong Kong to Phuket. Is it worth spending the extra $400 dollars to fly business, compared to coach, on this 3.5 hours flight?

I haven't, but I fail to understand why you are asking this question in the OneWorld forum when Thai Airwaysi is a member of Star Alliance?

This is only a guess... But perhaps, like me, he is planning an OWE and wants to take in Phuket. It is a very nice destination and since OWE doesn't fly there perhaps he thought to ask others who may have done it in conjunction with their OWE trips.

Now, I have not yet done my OWE or the side trip to HKT but I do intend on doing it and have done quite a bit of research. I intend on going RT from BKK to HKT instead of from HKG. Price is much less at $350.40 total for RT Business Class ticket. So if you are doing OWE and flying from Europe or Australia, then fly into BKK first, go to HKT and back, and then proceed on to your other Asian destinations. If you are coming from the Americas then do your Asian destinations first ending in BKK, followed by your HKT side trip, and then proceed on to Australia or Europe.

Royal Orchid Executive Class (business class) allows you access to the Royal Executive Class Lounge in BKK and Royal Orchid Executive Class (business class) also means you will not have to wait in line to check in and will have priority boarding. Also the Business Class fare from BKK is $350.40 instead of $1266.36 from HKG (both in USD)

I hope that was helpful. If not you may wish to take the previous posters advice and check another message board.

We use Bangkok Airways between BKK and UXM (? Koh Samui, anyway) and are thrilled with the performance of this little-but-growing airline. I'm pretty sure they serve Phuket now, too. Most of UXM is on ATR-72's, with the occasional 717. Fares are dirt cheap - usd 100 RT, more or less. They have a web site where you can book. No FF miles afaik, but they make up for it with a snack service that's respectable, and overall really, really nice service - almost a tiny regional Cathay with toy airplanes.
