DONE4 AA Codeshare on CX flights
I am planning a DONE4 which will include SIN-HKG-DPS-HKG-NRT (then onto MEL)
To maximise QF status bonus, I want to fly on AA/QF/BA flight numbers rather than CX where possible. I know that AA codeshares on the CX flights SIN-HKG and HKG-NRT, but looking at the AA website I'm confused whether my routing allows this. From what I've found it seems that these two codeshares are only allowed if you are connecting thru to the US - hence I would not be able to use them.
Is anyone able to confirm whether I can use these codeshares (or if there are any on the flights to/from DPS)? If there's no codeshares on the DPS flight, are there alternatives with codeshares also over the 1000 mile mark (Seoul, Beijing...)?
Thanks

You can book codeshares on OneWorld Explorer fares, provided both the flight number and operating airline are OneWorld alliance members.
However, there are often restrictions around the sale of codeshares. It may be restricted to a particular market geography (ie only sold in North America and not in Australia), or may only be sold in conjunction with a specific airline's connecting flights (ie you may have to arrive in an AA flight to book the connecting AA codeshare). These are not OneWorld Explorer rules, but specific rules for the particular codeshare flights.

SIN-HKG and HKG-NRT flights on AA flight numbers will not show up and hence not bookable... if you are not connecting onto an AA numbered flight.
There are 'ways' to get the flight booked. It just depends if your TA knows how to do it.
