Errr... it's rather odd to be thanking an airline after it delayed your luggage, but that's what I'm doing. I ran into a problem with delayed luggage on a combined AA/BA itinerary. When the bag finally arrived, I had to go get it in person because it couldn't clear customs. It cost me $125 to get there and back with the bag. I came home and sent an e-mail to BA baggage service about it, asking WHERE TO SEND THE CLAIM. I included the only things I had at the time: my ticket number and the $125 amount I didn't even have the lost bag claim number I got at the airport. After no response for 8 days (the automated e-mail I got said they'd respond within 48 hours) I assumed they ignored me, and filed a baggage claim on their website. Today I got a CHECK in the mail for $125 dated the DAY BEFORE I filed my web claim!!!!!! How cool is that? I didn't even give them my mailing address in my first e-mail, so they must've pulled it off my record using the ticket number.
Anyway, thanks BA. I expected it to be much more difficult to get my money.

Way to go II
Several months ago, when BA went on a 24 hour strike, I was flying BCN-LHR. When arriving in LHR, the lines were "miles" long for re-booking, lay over hotels, etc. In fact. hotels were now hard to come by.
I bypassed any line, went to my favorite airport hotel where I have some status. Got a room on executive level, and did my re-booking from there.
When I returned home, I sent a claim for the hotel, taxi, meal, drink, etc. and the check from BA came 2 weeks later.
