Arrow Star Alliance expands

I know this is the OW board, but I'm conscious that many within our fold may recently have taken advantage of the *A status match offer.

SAA and TAP have now joined the alliance. At long last a way of getting from Australia-South American on *A without having to go via the USA. More here:

Angry Wake Up Oneworld

wake up BA!! it's ok to aim for quality and depth over breadth -- but the integration between *A carriers is getting ever better and oneworld's has just stalled. every one of my business acquaintances goes for *A because they have a larger network -- that's what seems to count. With the AirFrance/KLM merger, Skyteam will expand too, and oneworld will be the smallest -- and thus least attractive of the alliances, especially since inter-airline operability is not really progressing beyond the BA/CX/QF household which existed before. Now SWISS is gone. oneworld needs some new members FAST: China Eastern, Japan Airlines, another European. WAKE UP BA! It's not all about Heathrow and the Atlantic.

Although you could argue that Blue1 is not news in this context. They're a fully owned SAS subsidiary and have been in *A based on that relationship. They're now rebranding to have a new, more independent image, and it seems that this announced membership serves both Blue1's and Star Alliance's PR very well.
