Advice on simple RTW ticket - error message

We have been flying AKL to MCT in business class buying the tickets from Oman Air and paying $6,500 NZD which was great as Qatar q suites was an option for the flight. They are no longer offering it, only with Malaysian now to KL and Oman air for 2nd leg.

So I thought I would do a RTW.

Akl - Syd - DOH - MCT - DAR - DOH - JFK - AKL

We will have a week in Sydney, a week in Muscat, with or without Doha stopover, 10 - 14 days in Tanzania to do the great migration and maybe a side trip to Zanzibar or Tanzania islands and to NYC to play tourist and then home.

We want to do Latam Ako to Syd, Qatar with Q suites up from Syd to Diha and don't mind a stop over on the way to Muscat if necessary. JFK to Akl want to do Qantas. Others we don't care.

The route comes up as valid, but when I go to select the first flight I get change dates or cities error message, I tried a couple of changes, same mesaage.

What I am I doing wrong? I saw that Qatar cannot be the first flight - which is why we will go via Sydney and visit family, but I don't get as far as selecting the first flight.

Thank you if you can help.

Latam is not part of oneWorld. Are you trying to book the Qantas codeshare, or what flight exactly?

You can have the first flight with QR Qatar, but apparently with QR as first flight ticketing defaults to QF Qantas. QF is the default ticketing agent for many *ONE*.tickets.
The OW online tool error message can have no link to the real error. Just have an error some where. The on line OW tool can fail.
You could book direct with QF https://www.qantas.com/au/en/book-a-...the-world.html

Some one recently had a list of *ONE* pricing based on orgin, but cannot find it. Will keep looking. Suspect will be a lot more than NZ$6500 exAKL

QR also fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) More convenient for the Serengeti
QR also fly to Zanzibar
