OW (RAM) baggage allowance

Am a 1W sapphire flying IAD to CMN this summer with some baggage. One bag is a piece of test equipment which with its protective case will likely exceed 50 lbs/23 kg.

RAMs standard business class rules say the cutoff for over weight fees are at 50 lb.

However on the 1W website the following language appears.
  • On itineraries using the baggage allowance weight system - 20 kgs in addition to the ticketed-cabin allowance.
  • On itineraries using the piece system - one additional bag for free in addition to your ticketed baggage allowance

Does this mean I get 20 kgs extra on my bag or just basically one extra bag up to kg in weight?

I believe officially that RAM applies it as an extra bag.

However, I was transporting some heavy art pieces recently and RAM did not charge me baggage fees for two separate CMN-JFK flights when I brought a single 95 lb bag.
