Guam to USA award?

Looking to fly from Guam to USA. I can only find star alliance availability. Does oneworld have award flights for such route? It keeps giving me no avail. Using AA and BA search. Thanks

From wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoni...tional_Airport JL is the only OW airline flying to/from Guam. But does not mean they have award availability to other OW ffp's.

For revenue tickets, JL is not permitted to sell Guam-Japan-USA, unless an American carrier (so AA or HA in most cases) is also in the itin. Not sure if this applies to award booking or not.

I'm not sure if JL has resumed Guam flights yet or not. They were suspended during COVID, leaving only UA.

The rule would apply the same whether award or revenue, but I know AA definitely sells the route because yesterday landing on AA61 at NRT, they pulled Guam connections off first. I don't know if those pax were transiting to JL or UA.

JL has sporadic services per https://www.jal.co.jp/jp/en/info/202...r/hawaii-guam/

No: JL does not fly GUM-HNL, and because of cabotage restrictions, cannot fly passengers from GUM to HNL via Japan absent some significant stopover in Japan.

Thank you, so my option is to get from Guam to Japan on one ticket, then another ticket from Japan to USA, then? I have a hard time finding award on Guam to Japan leg too for next year.

Yes, but you may have to stop over for a couple of days in Japan, unless you can get an award on AA metal ex-TYO.

I'm pretty sure it's just 24 hours, EDIT - Well strike that, it's 72 hours... but having said that if on separate tickets then no one would be the wiser once Japan is open for entry, just don't attempt to check luggage through, they'd have to go pick it up from baggage claim and go check in again as if a local passenger. (tear off your old baggage tags before getting to the JL counter, that would be a dead giveaway)

I found this, which could be useful, basically buy it on separate tickets, and keep your mouth shut about what you're doing to everyone.
Philippine Airlines instructions to agents on US Cabotage

AA doesn't fly Japan to Hawaii (which is where it sounds like the OP is trying to go), that's just UA and HA these days for US carriers, plus NH and JL. Scoot used to from KIX, not sure if that resumed or not.

Separate tickets don't necessarily work:

Interesting, I do wonder why the 96 ended up on the entry record, I suspect he must have said to the immigration officer what he was up to. If one were to simply quietly enter a country as if they were just a normal tourist, not mentioning onward intentions I can't imagine that anyone would be any the wiser. I've gone to Korea and flown on separate tickets many many times because tickets to the US or South America were a lot cheaper. Even though I'd just entered Korea that day, I was never once asked where I had come from, even though some flights were on OZ.

JL is not permitted to sell tickets between 2 points in the USA. 9th Freedom rights are very rare.
