Does One World really matter now in 2022?

Don't get me wrong, I like OneWorld and as a holder of BA Gold card I think I have had some nice advantages while.on One World carriers.

However, is it just me or is there now much more code shares with non One World carriers that almost make a mockery of the whole.concept..be it OW, * A or SkyTeam?

Sure I am currently based on Australia. Even if I were back in the UK I'm not even sure I would give BA my business like before. They really have not recovered much despite the departure of Snr Cruz.

I never really understood Qantas in OW. The partnership with Emirates really confused me!🤭. However now I see that Virgin Australia, always cheaper than QF, now are entering into code share and points on either programme wth Qatar. Now as it happens regardless of QR being in One World theatre one of my favourites for "getting off the big Island". They fly from PER which helps me but also ofcourse have good schedules from SYD and MEL. This codeshare with Virgin seems "interesting" and could have benefits.

Anyone else have thoughts on the value of One World and Codeshares? I also quite like that Virgin are also gaining points with Etihad. Also may Qantas fights earn little or.even no Avios/Tierpoints.
