Oneworld questions, AA to Iberia
I have Platinum on AA, which is Sapphire OneWorld. I want to book a flight on Iberia, and want to make sure I get benefits like my free checked bag. If I book directly with Iberia it doesn't know anything about my AA status.
I want to book a domestic Spain flight and these aren't showing up on AA search. Can I book by dialing into AA, or do I have to book them with Iberia. And if so how do I make sure my status gets recognized.
Thanks!

Baggage allowance with airlines can/does vary by airline & ticket type.
If buying a basic ticket you need to understand what is included. All airlines do not operate the way AA (or other USA airlines) do.
Look at the very bottom of https://www.oneworld.com/travel-benefits#benefits

What's the general consensus on IB Biz class? Have a trip to GVA next summer for a conference. Flying ex JFK, I can fly JFK-LHR on BA/AA and then LHR to GVA. Or JFK-MAD-GVA all on IB. Fares are about the same at this point. I am not a fan of the T3 - T5 transfer at LHR and wonder if MAD is worth it to fly through there. Lounges better than at LHR?

I flew IB business class MAD-LAX earlier this year. I found the lounge at MAD perfectly fine, actually. Obviously not Al Safwa, but perfectly fine for what it was. Even good. The flight, however, had food that I consider unacceptable in Y. It was just awful. The seats weren't great. Not terrible, but not good, either. I'd give the seats a C. Based on my one experience, I would (and will) go out of my way to avoid Iberia in the future.

In my experience, international business class on Iberia is more than acceptable. It's certainly a whole lot better than most BA planes unless you happen to get the new business class. Food on Iberia is awful. European business class seating is the same as economy, but with the middle seat empty. Food is something like a sandwich.

On your LHR transfer point, if BA still flies to GVA out of Terminal 5 then you could fly BA JFK-LHR and not have to change terminals. (If BA has changed their GVA flights to be out of T3, then fly AA JFK-LHR and you will end up in T3 so again no need to change terminals.)
