Looks it is more towards local staff training issue than other things. When I access the contracted lounge in Manchester Airport, the staff did acknowledge my Sapphire status but misunderstood on whether guest is allowed. But fortunately the staff very helpful, she call to confirm OWS/E is allowed to bring a guest instead of directly reject my wife as guest entry.

FYI--currently sitting in the SFO CX lounge waiting for BA284 and it is stocked very differently than for my CX flight to HKG a couple of months ago (that one has a scheduled departure before noon, next CX outbound is I think close to midnight). Noodle window closed, no hot dishes, definitely looks like they are catering to the Galleries clientele. So I can't imagine you're missing anything by being "forced" into the China Air lounge for BA departures! |
I was in there for a Qantas flight 3 weeks ago and the noodle window was open when I entered around 7pm. There was also hot food out (I had a spicy lamb dish).

Is it just me or is the food here not as good? As in the wonton soup from the noodle bar has noodles that aren't chewy ("al dente"?) and the soup has no flavour.
Because it isn't in Asia? |
