AA Platinum to One world Sapphire? Automatic?

Hello, I just got AA Platinum for first time. That is matched to ONE WORLD Sapphire. Does it happen automatically? Or Do I have to register? Looked through One world site, no place to register.

Please help

It isn't exactly status matching because nobody has oneworld status on its own. It's just a way of comparing status between oneworld carriers.

So, you get all of the benefits of oneworld Sapphire status immediately with your AA Platinum status.

You don't need to do anything. Basically you can straight away enjoy those Sapphire benefits that provided by other one world airlines

Just in mind that each OW airlines offer different level of benefit for each OW elite status, you may found one airlines may offer less perk than the other

Thanks, but somebody told me there is a "One world Sapphire card", So for example, if I Book a flight on Qantas (One World partner), they would know I am AA Platinum and Thus One World Sapphire automatically?

"somebody" was wrong. If you book a flight on Qantas and give them your AAdvantage number then Qantas will know that you hold OW Sapphire status by virtue of being AA Platinum.

If you have booked a flight before you achieved AA Plat (OW Sapphire) sometimes the change of status will be reflected in the booking. Need to phone to refresh the new status

The sapphire card just that instead of you have a Red dot on your AA gold card, now your AA plat card has a blue dot indicate is OW Sapphire

Your new AA card will have the relevant Oneworld dot, there is no specific oneworld card or member number.

Note if you have existing bookings on oneworld airline other than AA you may need to have your FF number removed, then re-added to get the status to show up.
