Malaysian lounge access

Apologies if this have been covered before.
I’m currently at LHR travelling J on MH1 and a BA Silver.
my adult son is in economy
I was initially refused a guest access for my son to the golden lounge..
upon speaking to a supervisor she relented but insisted Malaysia don’t allow guests.
is this correct ? I understood as a oneworkd sapphire I could take a guest in?
I'm transisting KUL so looking for for confirmation from anyone knowledgeable.
i felt certain I was correct but starting to doubt myself now and don’t want to be wrong in KUL
thanks in advance
Lee

Access to Business Class and frequent flyer lounges (with one guest), regardless of the class of service flown that day

Emerald and Sapphire members may invite one guest to join them in the lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld carrier.

You are right. The only reason MH could have denied you bringing a guest is if the lounge is too full and need capacity control.
