miles from operating or marketing carrier for codeshare in oneworld?

In *A, the rule is that the operating carrier booking class decides the miles earned. However, is that true in oneworld? If I buy a codeshare marketed by *A carrier but operated by oneworld carrier, where I should credit my flight?

Are there flights with a code share flight number from a *A carrier that is operated by a OW carrier? Maybe if you gave this information it might be more helpful.

I believe you can only choose to credit this to CA or CX, no other option. If you credit to CX, it will be based on the Asia Miles chart for CA and it will not count for the Marco Polo Club.

The rules are set by each individual airline program, not by oneworld as a whole. For example, you're going to earn zero on AA for that flight. That said, typically you would start checking eligibility for the marketing carrier.

Within OW (when both marketing and operating carrier are OW), marketing carrier counts.

The only places can be credited is the FFPs of the respective airlines due to their own special agreement. This situation doesn't meet the generic alliance crediting rules for either *A or OW.

Most oneworld carriers require a oneworld marketed flight, and a oneworld carrier operated flight, iirc. But JL has a number of exceptions, and QF is an exception.

E.g. one can earn AAdvantage miles in accordance with AA’s Qantas chart if flying a QF codeshare operated by, say, FJ.

Hey guys
im flying with PG from BOM-RGN-BKK and I’m presuming since PG are an affiliate of Oneworld I can get the miles credited to my BA account?!

I have just just had a quick chat with them and they said no we are not part of one world.

Can anyone help?!

Thanks B52

1. PG is not part of OW.
2. PG is not a BAEC partner, so cannot earn BA avois.
3. I think PG has BOM-BKK-RGN, not BOM-RGN-BKK.

Ok that’s a shame.

No no what I meant was, I’m flying BOM-BKK-RGN-BKK

I must say these RTW tickets are a bit confusing.

You must be on a Global Explorer ticket, because that allows travel on certain non-Oneworld airlines, including Bangkok Airways (PG)
(whereas the more popular Oneworld Explorer ticket does not)

Whether flying on such airlines can accrue miles to your particular FFP depends only on the rules of your FFP

Does the flight have a PG flight number?
Or a flight number of another airline (codeshare)?
Booking fare class? L?

Booking AY with BA flight number and want to credit to Royal Jordanian (RJ), will the BA Flight number count even though it's operated by AY?
AY earns more then BA, so wondering if it's a general OW rule if both operating carriers are OW, then marketing (BA) would count and not operating?
